Make your own simple refreshing Lemonade! (or Limeade)
It’s spring, the days are getting longer, nights warmer, magnolias and cherry trees are in bloom, you really want to just sit in the park all day and do no work, right? If not, we can swap places, you can do my awful holiday job and take over all my lab work for me and I will sit about in the sunshine drinking as much lemonade as I can make!
This really is so easy. If you like, store the Lemon Syrup in bottles and mix with Carbonated Water just before drinking for a fizzy version.
2:1 (Water:Lemon Syrup) is pretty much the perfect ratio depending on personal taste, so if making larger batches or unhappy with your first batch, just follow this roughly and keep tasting till you get the strength you desire.
– Recipe –
– 1 cup pure Lemon Juice (fresh or shop brought)
– 1 cup Sugar
– 1 cup Water
– 2-3 cups Water per cup of Lemon Syrup
- Mix the first three ingredients in a pan on low heat until the Sugar dissolves, this is Lemon Syrup. If you want Pink Lemonade, add a single drop of Red Food Colouring now.
- I bottle my Lemonade in 33cl (330ml) bottles, so I pour just over 100ml of Lemon Syrup into a measuring jug, top it up to 330 with Water and then bottle and cap the resulting drink.
